While the coronavirus pandemic has profoundly changed the dating landscape, a new report by the Pew Research Center reveals that American adults have long been dissatisfied with their dating lives and the ease of finding people to date. The survey was conducted online with 4,860 US adults from Oct 16 to Oct 28, last year - long before dating apps like Tinder and Hinge saw a surge in popularity as stay-at-home orders influenced the way we meet and mingle with potential partners.

More than half of those surveyed revealed that their dating lives were not going well, with 75% of them saying that it was "very or somewhat difficult" to find someone to date.
