Rose-lover creates perfect bloom after 62 years, names it Huntington's 100th

By AGENCY

Tom Caruth, Rose Garden Curator at The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, with roses known as Huntington's 100th, the newly hybridised rose chosen to help celebrate The Huntington's centennial year.

The mission: a permanent acquisition worthy of the 100th anniversary of the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California.

The addition had to be unique, preferably the work of a noted craftsman. It had to be colourful and sturdy – strong enough to withstand the elements, yet welcoming and warm. And it had to smell good.
