Firdaus Ahmad Farouk wants to make a difference. Every Thursday night, he heads over to the Feeding the Needy soup kitchen in Chow Kit to help out. With his family, he packs and distributes food from 8pm to 11pm. Though he doesn’t venture far from the soup kitchen, the 14-year-old has opened his heart to the city’s homeless.

“It’s a must in my life to help people. I want to make them feel better, to make their lives easier,” he says.
