The pain and discomfort suffered by children with gastrointestinal disorders (GI) and/or diseases can sometimes be unbearable. Irritability and emotional distress may ensue if the condition is left untreated.

Children often get stomach discomfort and abdominal pain. Nevertheless, certain common diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional dyspepsia (FD) have considerable impact on quality of life and healthcare costs.
