SimplySiti raises close to RM42,000 for children with heart diseases.
“I’VE been singing for a long time now and it always makes me happy whenever I see that my performance has put a smile on someone’s face,” says Datuk Siti Nurhaliza during the press conference of SimplySiti Di Hati 2014.
“But this is more meaningful as I can help someone lead a healthier, happier life.”
Siti is, of course, talking about her cosmetic line SimplySiti’s initiative to provide financial aid to three children with life-threatening heart diseases.
They are Logasree Vijayan, four, Aida Zakiah Mohamed Amin, eight, and Andrew Lim, 13.
Through a partnership with National Heart Institute of Malaysia, Watsons and Connexion@Nexus, the campaign – which ran for a month in September – saw 5% of RM100 purchases of SimplySiti products at Watsons outlets nationwide donated to the childrens’ medical treatments.
The campaign, now in its third year, raised close to RM42,000.
Proceeds from a charity concert, Timeless Journey, held at Connexion@Nexus also contributed another RM15,000.
Siti says she made plans to be by each child’s side before they entered the operation theatre, but could not make it at the eleventh hour due to a family emergency.
“Although I could not be there, I understand their situation, as this is our third time running this initiative. In our previous experiences, I saw the worry on each of the parents’ faces and the fear within the kids as they waited for their surgeries.
“I’m glad to say that in all the three years we have helped with this campaign, all the children have gone on to lead better lives.”
