Is a Tupperware Party right for you?

Tupperware Malaysia MD Tham Ying Hoong says her mother, a traditional cook who believed in only using fresh ingredients, has become a fan of Tupperware too

Tupperware parties aren't just social gatherings, but opportunities for women to network and do business.

It's hard to imagine, but Tupperware was created out of a waste product of oil refining called polyethylene slag. It was that slimy black material collected from the bottom of oil barrels. But then in the 1940s, tree surgeon Earl Tupper began experimenting with it, and somehow managed to purify the stuff to turn it into mouldable see-through plastic that wasn't just durable, it could retain its shape even when twisted and bent.
