Our #BestNewArtiste pick for this month technically isn’t so new to the scene.

Brit rockers Wolf Alice is one of the hottest new bands today, even though it has been around since 2010.

The band released a four-track EP last year (Creature Songs) and has since been on several top music pundits’ radar. It helps, too, that the band played a fiercely rocking set during John Peel’s session at Glastonbury 2014, and opened for Alt-J in January this year.

On top of that, Wolf Alice has also been playing a few gigs in New York so you can bet it has some exposure Stateside.

Led by singer and sole female member Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie (other members include drummer Joel Amey and bassist Theo Ellis), Wolf Alice sounds a little like Garbage in comparison, but with the attitude of Sleater-Kinney.

My Love Is Cool, the band’s debut album, is slated for a release in June. For now, check out the singles Giant Peach and Moaning Lisa Smile.
