War Of The Worlds: Goliath

> 1978 – Filem Negara Malaysia (FNM) completed Hikayat Sang Kancil, the first locally-produced short animated film. The film was eventually released six years later in 1984 due to complications.

> 1995Usop Sontorian premiered on RTM1. Created by cartoonist Ujang and Kamn Ismail of Kharisma Pictures, the show about a kampung boy became Malaysia’s first animated series.

> 1998 – Directed by Hassan Abd Muthalib, Silat Lagenda is loosely based on the adventures of Hang Tuah and his warrior friends. Featuring the voices of Noorkumalasari and Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, Silat Lagenda is Malaysia’s first animated film.

> 2009 – Les’ Copaque Production released Geng: The Adventure Begins, Malaysia’s first computer-animated film. Made with a budget of RM4mil, the film features popular animated character Upin and Ipin unravelling a mystery in a small kampung.

> 2012War Of The Worlds: Goliath is Malaysia’s first 3D-animated feature film. Produced by Tripod Entertainment, the film had its first international premiere at the famed San Diego Comic Convention.
