Punggok Rindukan Bulan's arthouse sensibilities

Filmmaking boils down to a matter of preference, tolerance and artistic licence. So are audiences ready for the arthouse Malay language film Punggok Rindukan Bulan?

It's a kind of a risk, said film producer Amir Muhammad on his latest project, the Malay-language independent film, Punggok Rindukan Bulan (The Longing). The title is taken from the Malay saying, “like the owl misses the moon.” The film is the directorial feature debut of 26-year-old Azharr Rudin, who is best known for his series of six short films compiled as The Amber Sexalogy.
