Hong Kong actor Kevin Cheng was recently in Singapore for a holiday with his eldest son Rafael, who starts primary school in September.

Cheng, who turned 56 on Aug 15, posted several photos on Instagram on Aug 20, tagging The Barracks Hotel Sentosa.

There were three solo shots of the actor, while Rafael was seen in the last photo with celebrity stylist Martin Wong.

“First time travelling alone with my son,” Cheng wrote in Chinese.

“There were no photos of us together as we took turns taking pictures of each other. However, the memories remain in our hearts.”

The actor has three sons – Rafael, six; Yannick, five; and Carlos, two – with his wife, Canadian actress Grace Chan, 34.

Best known for his roles in television series such as Under The Canopy Of Love (2006) and Scarlet Heart (2011), Cheng has cut down on acting in recent years to spend more time with his family.

He and Chan were in Malaysia in late July for the grand opening of a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.

She shared photos and videos of his birthday celebration on social media on Aug 15.

“Happy birthday, babe. I know you don’t like parties but you know... when in Malaysia,” she wrote in English. “To my favourite Leo man, thank you for being a rock... star for our family, so on behalf of our three bum bums: Thank you, daddy. You deserve to have the best celebration ever.” – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
