The father of Singaporean radio personality Dennis Chew has died on Feb 12, just one day after Chew’s last day of school in Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
In an Instagram post, Chew said his father had “passed away peacefully” in the morning on Feb 12.
“Just yesterday afternoon, I told you that I had completed my studies, and this morning, you left,” said Chew, 51, who went back to school to pursue a diploma in Chinese Media and Communication in 2022.
“I know you must feel proud of me. Thank you, dad.”
Chew also thanked his father for giving him an “optimistic personality and a one-of-a-kind sense of humour”, adding that he learnt how to live with sincerity from his father.
“Dad, thank you for bringing me into this beautiful world,” said Chew. “Rest assured, I’ll take good care of myself. I love you.” – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
