Taiwan-based Malaysian singer Jyin Poh announced on Dec 1 that her father has passed away.
Poh broke the news in an Instagram post captioned: “Dad went back to find mom.”
While the 34-year-old star didn’t reveal her father’s cause of death, she expressed feeling “distressed” over the loss in a Facebook Story this afternoon.
“My heart is in pain. My beloved, most-respected father is gone," she wrote.
The singer, best known for her album You Know I’m Waiting For You, always shared a special bond with her parents and even described them as her biggest motivation.
In June 2016, Poh penned a track, My First Love, for her father.
“Oh, I love you/You’re always by my side/I don’t want to wait till you’re gone and regret not loving you enough,” the song goes.
China Press reported that the music artiste had not been able to return to Malaysia to accompany her parents in recent years due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, that didn't stop Poh from showering them with love.
On Mother’s Day this year, the singer asked her brother to help order some of her mother’s favourite dishes so she could “recall the time when the whole family dined together”.
Unfortunately, Poh would lose her mother to a serious illness in August. She was in her 70s.
