Things are super good for Jonah Hill right now.

The Superbad star, 38, praises the wonders therapy has worked on his life in the trailer for his new Netflix documentary, Stutz, about his friend and therapist Phil Stutz.

“I was going to start by acknowledging how odd this endeavor is: a patient making a movie about his therapist. But my life has gotten immeasurably better as a result of working with you. If it worked for me, maybe it will work for other people,” says Hill.

“How can I make a movie where I’m talking about people being vulnerable and working on their problems and not be vulnerable myself?” Hill asks Stutz in the film, set to hit the streamer Nov 14.

Noting that he grew up “wildly insecure,” the Mid90s director says he’s used therapy to try “accepting“ and learning that “it’s great to be this person.”

In August, Deadline published a letter penned by Hill in which he said he would no longer promote his films, thereby putting his mental health front and centre

“Through this journey of self-discovery within the film, I have come to the understanding that I have spent nearly 20 years experiencing anxiety attacks, which are exacerbated by media appearances and public facing events,” wrote Hill, noting the move was meant “to protect” himself. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
