Singer Rose of the popular K-pop group Blackpink has launched her own YouTube channel today (March 18).

And the first video on it showcases footage of the 24-year-old as a child, as a member of Blackpink and as a solo artiste working on her first album R, featuring the songs On The Ground and Gone.

In that five-minute video too – titled Interview Film – Rose talks about what music means to her, falling in love with music, her dream and of course, what the song On The Ground is all about.

“I realised the most important thing in music is to portray my life experiences and stories ... That’s why music to me is ‘comfort’ these days, ” she says.

Born in New Zealand, Rose and her family moved to Melbourne, Australia when she was seven.

At the age of 15, she auditioned for YG Entertainment, signed on with the South Korean agency, and later debuted as a member of Blackpink.

Rose’s debut single album R was released on March 12.
