Famous Indian actors Saif Ali Khan and Kamal Haasan are two celebrities who took the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
In a report by an Indian media, it states that some celebrities have taken the first jab already since the vaccine drive in India opened up to not only adults above 60 years of age and those above 45 years with medical conditions, but to others as well.
Actor Saif Ali Khan, who was in the news when his wife Kareena Kapoor gave birth to their second child, was photographed waiting in the queue at a vaccination centre. The actor didn't share the news himself.
Meanwhile, Kollywood star and politician Kamal Haasan shared a video of him getting vaccinated on his Instagram.
Times Of India had his translated caption: “I got vaccinated at Sri Ramachandra Hospital. Everyone who cares not just about themselves but also about others should get the vaccination immediately. Today immunisation of body, next month vaccination against corruption. Get ready."
Actress Meghna Naidu who currently lives in Dubai with Portuguese husband, tennis player Luis Miguel Reis, also took the shot there.
It was reported she wrote: “1st shot of Vaccination done. Thank you, Dubai – UAE, for such an amazing and organised service and also for making sure all of us living here feel super safe!!! Luis and me got the vaccine not only for ourselves but for everyone around us to feel and be safe If you get a chance to be vaccinated, please don't hesitate. Do it for you. Do it for others around you !!!”
Other Indian stars who got the first shot include Rakesh Roshan, Hema Malini, Satish Shah, Johnny Lever and Shilpa Shirodkar.
