Malaysian director Sam Quah breaking box office records in China


Malaysian filmmaker Sam Quah makes it into China’s billion yuan club with his feature film directorial debut 'Sheep Without A Shepherd'.

Malaysian film director Sam Quah Boon Lip's Sheep Without A Shepherd is now the 10th top-grossing domestic film of 2019 in China, and still going strong at CNY1.17bil (RM690mil).

The box office takings for Quah’s mystery thriller surpassed the billion yuan mark recently, making him the first Malaysian filmmaker to reach that landmark.
