Some of the country’s most popular music acts from the 1970s and 1980s will perform on one stage – the Musicians For Musicians Benefit Concert 2020.
With an impressive 30-act line-up including Alleycats, Blues Gang, Roy & Fran, Headwind, Michael Veerapan & Friends, the concert is expected to span eight hours.
It will take place at Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, on March 15, beginning at 3pm.
The concert is an initiative by Persatuan Pemuzik Tempatan Selangor (PPTS), a not-for-profit association established to aid needy local musicians.
“The concert is part of our efforts to help performers in clubs, hotels and pubs to live an independent life, enjoy a decent standard of living and help them sustain their creative lives, ” PPTS president and organising committee chairman Francis Danker said in a press statement.
“In our mission to change the lives of helpless musicians, we will ensure only deserving cases benefit from the fund governed by a dedicated panel.”
Proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards musicians suffering from illnesses, age-related conditions, family tragedies, homelessness and poverty.
Tickets, priced at RM100 each and RM5,000 for a table of 10, are now on sale on airasiaredtix.com.
