Multiple Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep is on one of the most talked-about shows right now, Big Little Lies, plus three more upcoming TV events that have piqued our interest.

Big Little Lies Season Two

Big Little Lies centres on five women living in the coastal town of Monterey - the Monterey Five - whose lives are intertwined after a tragic turn of events leave one of their husbands, Perry, dead. Expect even more dramatic acting performances in Season Two as Meryl Streep joins the show as Perry’s mum who comes to town to find out the truth about her son’s death. Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley also star.

Big Little Lies Season Two airs every Monday at 9am on HBO (Astro Ch 411). Primetime encore at 10pm.

Kim Bon’s next job sees him infiltrating his neighbour’s household. Go Ae Rin’s husband has just died and to uncover the truth behind his death, he poses as a babysitter to their two kids. Jung In-sun and Son Ho-jun co-star.

The Bachelor Japan

Famed American dating reality series The Bachelor has hit Japan, with 35-year-old entrepreneur Hirotake Kubo becoming its first bachelor. The series begins with 25 women vying for Hirotake’s heart. As the weeks go by, the candidates get eliminated. The final candidate left standing receives a marriage proposal from Hirotake.

The Bachelor Japan premieres Aug 1 at 8pm on TLC (Astro Ch 707). *The article previously indicated the show was slated to air in June, but the airing date has since been postponed.
