Here’s our top picks of what to watch on TV this April:

A few years before his death in 1973, legendary martial artist Bruce Lee pitched a TV show to an American studio but was turned down. In 2014, Fast & Furious director Justin Lin met with Bruce’s daughter Shannon Lee. She showed him the notes her father wrote about the show and Lin decided to develop it.

The 10-episode Warrior tells the story of young martial artist Ah Sahm who leaves China for San Francisco in search of a woman. His martial arts ability catches the attention of a Chinese crime family who then hire him as a hitman. Starring Andrew Koji, Olivia Cheng and Jason Tobin.

Warrior premieres April 6 at 11am on Cinemax (Astro Ch 412).

Asia’s Got Talent, Season 3 finale

Two Malaysian contestants are in the finals of reality talent series Asia’s Got Talent this season! Can local girl group Nama sing and sashay their way to the hearts of voters? Or will it be 15-year-old “Human Calculator” Yaashwin Sarawanan who will find the perfect equation to win it all?

The final performance show will air live from Marina Bay Sands on April 4 while the results show on April 11 at 8.30pm on AXN (Astro Ch 701).

Free Solo

Free Solo received widespread attention when it won an Oscar for Best Documentary this year. The documentary follows American climber Alex Honnold as he climbs El Capitan, a 900-m tall rock formation in California, alone and without a rope, harness or any safety equipment.

StarLifestyle was treated to an exclusive screening of Free Solo ahead of its premiere and let’s just say, the 100-minute long feature is not for the fainthearted. The climbing portions are incredibly terrifying, interspersed with private moments capturing Honnold’s relationship with his family and girlfriend.

Free Solo premieres April 6 at 9pm on National Geographic Channel (Astro 553 and unifi TV 508).

Huge In France

Gad is a famous comedian in France. But when he decides to move to Los Angeles to reconnect with his estranged son, he has to learn to live without all the perks that come with celebrity life in France.

Worse, Gad’s cool, male model son already has a cool father figure (also with model good looks) in his life, and Gad is finding it hard to relate to the teen. Starring Gad Elmaleh, Jordan Ver Hoeve and Erinn Hayes.

Huge In France premieres on Netflix on April 12.

Game Of Thrones, Season 8

Winter is here. The fantasy series, based on George RR Martin’s books, have always warned viewers of the impending arrival of the White Walkers (these scary humanoid creatures with white skin and bright blue eyes) who are determined to obliterate the Seven Kingdoms.

The last episode of Season Seven saw the wall that kept the White Walkers at bay for years crumbling down. With some rulers of the Seven Kingdoms at war with each other, can they put their differences aside and come together to stop the White Walkers in the eighth and final season?

Game Of Thrones Season 8 premieres April 15 at 9am on HBO (Astro Ch 411).

This Japanese medical drama follows a team of pathologists working in the fictional Unnatural Death Investigation Laboratory (UDI Lab), which investigates cases of unexplained deaths. While each episode sees the team trying to solve a different case, there’s also an overarching plot to keep viewers hooked. Starring Satomi Ishihara, Arata Iura and Masataka Kubota.

Unnatural is available on dimsum.
