It's hard not to think of Will Smith’s title track for the 1997 film Men In Black when you see the words “Men In Black” together.
We associate the song immediately because Smith and Tommy Lee Jones’s portrayals as Agents Jay and Kay in the MIB movies are just so iconic that we can’t see anyone else as the galaxy defenders. So, the best thing Hollywood can do for an MIB reboot is to cast huge stars like Chris Hemsworth and Liam Neeson in it.
Emma Thompson reprises her role as Agent O, a character we first saw in Men in Black III. Another addition to the reboot is Tessa Thompson (no relations to Emma) who has proven to have good on-screen chemistry with Hemsworth, whom she also starred with in Thor: Ragnarok.
The trailer to Men In Black: International seems fun with Hemsworth having some of the best lines and, as always, a slew of weird looking aliens. In this reboot, the agents have to tackle their biggest threat to date – a mole within the Men In Black organisation. Can the newbie Agent M (Tessa) and Agent H (Hemsworth) save the day?
The film is helmed by F. Gary Gray, and also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani and Rafe Spall.
Men In Black: International opens in cinemas nationwide on June 13.
