Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! The new trailer for 'Mary Poppins Returns' is out now, and it looks absolutely magical.
The trailer gives us the first look of Emily Blunt in action as the titular character made famous by Julie Andrews, as well as Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of the Broadway smash-hit Hamilton, as her sidekick Jack
The original Mary Poppins, based on author P.L. Travers popular children’s books, starred Julie Andrews as the titular magical British nanny, who shows up at the home of the Banks family and changes their lives with the help of her then sidekick, a chimneysweep named Bert, played by Dick Van Dyke.
Mary Poppins Returns, which is due out this Christmas, is not a reboot, but rather, a direct sequel to the 1964 classic Mary Poppins. It is set in Depression-era London, where a now-adult Jane and Michael Banks (played by Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw), and Michael's three children, are visited once more by Mary Poppins.
The movie is directed by Rob Marshall, co-stars Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Angela Lansbury, Dick Van Dyke, David Warner and Julie Walters, and features new original songs composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman.
Mary Poppins Returns will be flying into cinemas on Dec 19.
