Malaysia Film Festival (FFM) enters its 30th year this year. And National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) director-general Datuk Fauzi Ayob said this year the event will be slightly different than usual.

“We want to include the international artistes in this year’s festival,” said Fauzi.

“But we are still in the planning and discussion stage. We are looking at whether to include them as nominees or as part of the show. But we do plan to make FFM different this time around because it’s the 30th year.”

Fauzi added that the FFM30 will be held sometime in December.

He said all this when he attended the signing ceremony between SRAM & MRAM Techological Resources Limited and local production house Produksi Seni 2020.

SRAM & MRAM Group is an international conglomerate that has a variety of businesses including agriculture, jewellery, hotel, media and information technology to name a few.

The signing ceremony is officiate that Produksi Seni 2020 as its sole content provider aggregator, for its upcoming video on demand and streaming platform.

The local production house – founded by Datuk Nancie Foo and Datin Wendy Wong – will be responsible to find and develop content, not only from Malaysia but other Asian countries.

Commenting on the partnership, Fauzi said: “This relationship will increase Malaysia’s economy and create job opportunities. Our film industry has a lot of potential in writing, acting and production value.

“Malaysia is also great as filming locations. That is why collaboration like this is exciting and encouraged.”
