A Magnum P.I. reboot has cast actor Jay Hernandez as the titular private investigator, according to Variety. The 40-year-old American will play Thomas Magnum, a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning from Afghanistan, re-purposes his military skills to become a private eye.
Tom Selleck, who now stars in the TV drama Blue Bloods, played the role in the original series that ran from 1980 to 1988.
