I need someone to punch me so I know I’m not dreaming,” he told Star2.com in a phone interview from Singapore. Sobhi performed at the grand finals last night (Dec 7) in front of judges David Foster, Anggun and Jay Park at the Marina Bay Sands. “For my act, I had a concept where I wanted to deliver this message of hope through my struggles.”

Sobhi, who came to Malaysia in 2015 to escape the Syrian war, is based in Shah Alam, Selangor where he works as a supervisor at a restaurant.  “I’m thankful for the support for the support I’v received from Malaysians. I’ve been getting a lot of positive messages on social media. I’m very proud to be Syrian guy representing Malaysia in Asia’s Got Talent,” he added.
