Here's an update on this story, previously titled "Malaysia's Estranged joins Korn, Metallica, Radiohead in London concert", which was published on Star2.com on Dec 4.
On Dec 22, Estranged's legal team issued a statement saying that the band had been misrepresented by a con artist and that the said Apple Music festival in London won't be taking place.
The statement reads: "This has caused us (the band) much embarrassment. We were confused as to whether to make this public as we know that it may affect our image. However, we have decided to make this information public in the interest of other innocent fellow musicians who are passionate about their music but are sometimes gullible when it comes to business. It is our nature as musicians to be trusting of people. We have certainly paid a heavy price for this."

Malaysia's Estranged joins Korn, Metallica, Radiohead in London concert
Christmas might be three weeks away but Estranged has just received the gift of a lifetime.
The local rock band has been handpicked by Apple Music to perform in its year-end Apple Music Christmas Festival in Britain.
The trio is the first Malaysian band to be invited for this show.
“To know that we will be performing in a huge music festival is such an accomplishment for us as a band. We are humbled by the opportunity to perform at the Apple Music Christmas Festival, and to be sharing a stage with other international acts on a global level. We are going to enjoy every bit of this experience. We can’t wait to put on a good show and make Malaysia proud,” said Rich Gimbang, frontman of Estranged.
Estranged will also be the opening act for Korn at a New Year's Eve concert at the Leeds Indoor Arena. The band will make appearances on BBC London and meet fans at the New Year Sky TV Showcase in Liverpool before capping the tour with a special showcase at Hard Rock Cafe London on Jan 3.
Estranged has started rehearsing after receiving the news about the gigs.
“The rehearsal sessions are quite intense and technical. But I always tell everyone to remember to enjoy the moment even during rehearsals so that when the actual show takes place, we will also enjoy ourselves,” said Gimbang.
While Estranged is still finalising its setlist, the band says it will perform a new English song at the shows. “We hope to release the song prior to our tour in Britain,” Gimbang added.
Established in 2001, the band comprises Gimbang, Din Hormatov and Nor Hanafi Noor Hadi. The band has released four studio albums. In 2008, it won the Best Song Award at Anugerah Juara Lagu with its hit single Itu Kamu.
The complete lineup for 2016’s Apple Music Christmas Festival will be announced on Dec 7.
