Game Of Thrones has just made Emmy history by becoming the most awarded fictional TV series since the awards began in 1949.
At the 68th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, the HBO series won three trophies for best writing (DB Weiss and David Benihoff), best directing (Miguel Sapochnik) and best TV series – and nine statuettes at the earlier Creative Arts Emmys – bringing its total haul over the years to a whopping 38. That's one more than the previous most decorated show, the long-running sitcom Frasier.
