After a “fake” working album title, many rumours and even a mysterious “visual album” release, singer Frank Ocean has finally unveiled a brand new album.
Released on Aug 20, Blonde (or Blond, as it is written on the album’s cover art) is Ocean’s second full studio effort after the 2012 award-winning Channel Orange. With 17 tracks on the list, Blonde features appearances by artistes like Beyonce, Pharrell Williams, Andre Benjamin (aka Andre 3000), KOHH, Danger Mouse and more.
In previous reports, Ocean mentions musical influences by The Beatles in the new album and true enough, the band is credited on several tracks on Blonde, along with other inspirational musicians like Burt Bacharach, Stevie Wonder, Hal David and Eliott Smith.
Some of the songs include Ivy, Self Control, Pretty Sweet, Facebook Story, Solo, Be Yourself, White Ferrari and the previously released single, Nikes featuring Japanese hip-hop artiste KOHH.
At the moment, Blonde and Endless as only available on Apple Music and iTunes but presumably the albums will make their way to other streaming sites like Spotify after Apple’s two-week exclusive deal ends.
