July was an exciting month for the award-winning scriptwriter-turned-director. His second movie, 2014 horror flick Seventh, scored eight nominations at the inaugural Golden Butterfly Awards during the Malaysia & Taiwan Film Festival (MTTF) in June, with actress Thian Siew Kim winning Best Female New Performer and Most Promising Female Newcomer.
