Since Tarzan appeared in the pages of the magazine Tarzan Of The Apes in 1912, the fictional character has gone on to entertain readers in a series of 25 adventure novels (from 1913 to 1965) – all written by American author Edgar Rice Burroughs.

With over 25 million copies sold in books (which have been translated in 56 languages), the king of the jungle is undoubtedly a cultural icon that has survived the test of time.
