MusikaPublika has its official kick off with a music bazaar at Blackbox, Publika in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 9.
This is the place to be for your music shopping needs this weekend, with an independent vinyl market anchoring the event.
MusikaPublika, organised by music enthusiasts Jerome Kugan, Boon Tan, Nurul Jannah and Daryl Goh, with Publika as venue partner, aims to foster a community-driven scene for music collectors and fans. The event’s hands-on content curation ensures diversity on the cards.
This Saturday’s first edition will feature more than 30 independent vendors and a crop of deejays to liven up proceedings.
Pop-up booths and stalls, featuring vendors like Vinyl Malaya, Badmotorfinger, Tandang Store, Metal Malaya, El Pee Records, Herbal Records, Soundscape Records, Shiny Happy People, Crossroads Records, Gee Amcorp and many others, will be loaded with indie, punk, metal, dance and pop LPs (new and pre-loved) to rock, classical and jazz records.
For the vinyl-loving fan, there will be hours of crate-digging fun.
The vendors will be also be selling CDs, cassettes and other music-related merchandise. Deejays like Xes Xes Loveseat, Laydeh, Ribut, JK, Oddjob and Kubika will be supplying vinyl-only sets through this all-ages event.
MusikaPublika runs from 4pm to 10pm this Saturday. Free admission. More info: www.facebook.com/musikapublika.
