Actor Booboo Stewart says being on Disney's Descendants was kind of like being on Twilight, in which he starred alongside Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
“You might think there are lots of differences when you compare a big-screen blockbuster like Twilight to a TV movie like Descendants – but you’d be wrong. Descendants is huge. If you’d visited the set, you would never think that it was a TV movie,” says Stewart in an interview released on the film's official website.
“The movie is packed with big dance scenes, so there were tons of extras on the set. There were big cranes filming the action and lots of crazy stuff going on.”
Descendants, a Disney original movie directed by High School Musical’s Kenny Ortega, chronicles the adventure of four teenage offsprings of Disney villains as they navigate through prep school. Stewart, 21, plays Jay, the son of Aladdin villain Jafar.
Oh and guess who they "evil" descendants will be going to school with? The teenage offsprings of Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. They better watch out!
Working on a big production also means getting to work with big names. Dove Cameron, who plays the daughter of the evil Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, was thrilled to star opposite her acting idol, Kristin Chenoweth.
“When I think about everything we shot for the movie, my favourite scene is a confrontation scene between my character, Mal, and her mother, Maleficent. When I got to work with Kristin Chenoweth on that scene, it was really, really emotional,” she says.
Descendants premieres on Sept 13 at 11am on Disney Channel (Astro Ch 615).
