It was Lelaki Harapan Dunia’s night. The film about the “angkat rumah” tradition garnered five awards at the 27th Malaysia Film Festival held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre last weekend including Best Film and Best Director for Liew Seng Tat.
The 35-year-old looked overwhelmed on stage as he kept his speech short and mostly thanked the crew for their hard work. Eventually, he confessed that he was nervous.
