The Catch is one of the dramas that will have you at the edge of your seats.

Television networks in the United States are busy presenting their new lineups to the international media as well as TV buyers from all around the world at the annual Upfronts and Los Angeles Screenings happening these two weeks in Los Angeles, California.

At an event on Sunday night, Disney Media Distribution unveiled its 2015/16 slate of ABC Studios series that include 12 new series which will premiere from September onwards.

Star2's entertainment editor Gordon Kho, who was present at the event, picks some buzz-worthy shows.

The Catch

The Catch is the fourth and latest drama from Shonda Rhimes, who is already enjoying immense success with Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder.

Rhimes, together with stars from Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder - Kerry Washington and Viola Davis respectively - were present to introduce Mireille Enos, lead actress from her new series The Catch, to over 700 guests who attended the event.

Enos plays a fraud investigator who is the best in her job... until she's conned by her fiancé. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, so she's hellbent on getting even, or getting everything back, or both.

The 39-year-old actress, who looks glamorous in a blue pantsuit (a far cry from her drab outfits we witnessed in four seasons of The Killing), told Star2 she can't wait for audience to see a different side of her in this crime thriller. Neither can we.

The Family

Don't let the title fool you; The Family is more of a thriller than a family drama. It tells the story of a politician's son who went missing many years ago and was presumed dead.

A decade later, he reappears, but not everything adds up. Is the young man really who he says he is? The Family stars Joan Allen and Andrew McCarthy.

Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra headlines this crime series which centres on a group of FBI recruits. No, that's not all. She is then accused as the terrorist responsible for one of the worst attacks on the US since 9/11.

Obviously she can't be the villain (or can she?) as she works to expose the real McCoy.

"It is such a pleasure, after working in Indian films for so many years, to be starring in my first US series. After reading the script, I knew I couldn't say no (to Quantico). This is definitely a show with lots of surprises and twists, some of them I don't know myself," Priyanka said at the event.

John Stamos finally gets to headline his own comedy but he can't seem to say the title out loud. "Grandf.... I can't even say the word," the youthful-looking star said.

"It was called the Untitled John Stamos show for awhile but obviously they had to have a title and I remember getting a call from somebody who said, 'We got a great title, what do you think of Grandpa?' I said, 'What do you think? F*** you!'" he joked.

But he is thankful for the great opportunity. "I mean, I am 51 and who gets a show written for them as this age? This show is the new Full House. It has heart; it bypasses the brain and goes straight to the heart."

In Grandfathered, Stamos plays a hot, successful and very much single restauranteur who gets the shock of his life when he learns he's a father to a grown-up son and also a grandfather to a baby girl.

NEXT: More shows in the lineup - The Muppets, Oil, Wicked City and more!

Other shows in the lineup include:

The Muppets

The series will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, break-ups, achievements and disappointments. Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy head cast.

Executive-produced and starring 1980s legend Don Johnson, Oil is a sexy soap (with lots of sex, to quote Johnson) which tells the story of a desperate couple who hopes to make it big in North Carolina where oil has been discovered.

There, they are pitted against a ruthless tycoon who forces them to bet big and put everything on the line, including their marriage. Oil also stars Gossip Girls' Chace Crawford.

Wicked City

Starring another Gossip Girl alumnus, Ed Westwick, Wicked City is a thriller set in the 1980s where detectives, reporters, drug dealers and club-goers form an alliance to solve a serial muder case.

Code Black

Code Black is a fast-paced medical drama that takes place at a busy ER, where the influx of patients can outweigh the limited resources available to the doctors and nurses.

It stars Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden, who was last seen in several episodes of How To Get Away With Murder.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders

A spin-off from the popular Criminal Minds series, Beyond Borders focuses on a specialised division in the FBI which is tasked with solving crimes and coming to the rescue of American citizens who find themselves in danger while abroad.

Gary Sinise (starring in his second spin-off series after CSI: NY) heads the cast which includes Daniel Henney and Tyler James Williams.
