The KL Butoh Festival is back in full force this year, celebrating its 10th year with performances, exhibitions and master classes.
This festival, which ends on Nov 12, reflects on the evolution of Butoh and where it stands today, more than five decades after it first took off in post-war Japan. Regarded as an avant garde art form, Butoh encompasses a diverse range of techniques and movements that feature playful and often grotesque imagery, as well as strange and absurd environments.
