Most of the world's tallest buildings are in China

By AGENCY

In total, 128 skyscrapers of over 200m tall reached completion in 2016, of which 84 were in China, according to the recent CTBUH Year in Review report.

These figures, complied by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, mark the third record-breaking year in a row, thanks in large part to China's leading skyscraper-building industry. The country also boasts the largest tall building to have been constructed in 2016: the 530m-high CTF Finance Centre in China's southern city of Guangzhou, the fifth-tallest building in the world (the highest is still the Burj Khalifa in Dubai).
