Looking beneath the art

Bibi Chew is on a roll. Beside the majesty of Zac Lee’s tigers and Lee Mok Yee’s bright red moon blocks, her Silk Series is, at first glance, the wallflowers of the Look To See trio exhibition at Shalini Ganendra Fine Art in Petaling Jaya. These semi-translucent, pale whispers in white hang quietly on the gallery wall, soft silk stretched tightly over a tangled knot of wires.

Still, they say still waters run deep, and that is indeed the case here.
