It’s the sort of idea that sounds baffling at first. You call up 11 prominent young artists, most of whom are known for a particular style that they may have spent years developing. And for your exhibition, you want them to all do something different.
It’s almost like commissioning maverick filmmaker Quentin Tarantino to direct a quirky rom-com in the English countryside. But experimenting was indeed the goal of Shift, an exhibition (on until July 17) by Taksu Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
