The flowering of a new generation of performers is an exciting thing to watch, particularly if they come from an established arts organisation with specific traditions and sensibilities. A large part of the enjoyment in such shows is how these emerging artistes forge their own distinctive approaches while simultaneously honouring their beginnings.
Reflections by the Temple Of Fine Arts (TFA), staged last week in Kuala Lumpur, was promoted as one such production, where nine Indian classical dancers who each had their start there got together to reflect on their journeys through dance.
