An experiential showcase featuring a team of self-made crafters aim to offer Malaysian handmade with a twist.
A menagerie of bunnies, elephants and owls dangle from a bare tree. The Baba Nyonya twins stand frozen to one corner, with wooden pegs for arms and painted boxes for tummies. On the floor is a furry cat, curled up as if it were sleeping. Its owner, Redzlina Abdul Wahab, 41, says you can sit on it, if you want to, because it’s not a real cat (or a human girl, for that matter, ala Hello Kitty) but really a squishy floor lounger, and a handmade one at that.
