Immaterial Frontiers 2.0: Place, space and identity

Tad Ermitanoâ¿TMs contribution to 'Immaterial Frontiers 2' is 'Bell', a huge hollow soundwork made out of repurposed roofing material. An attached electromagnet provides a small current that flows through itâ¿TMs frame, resulting in a low rumbling hum audible from the inside of the piece.

Acclaimed South-East Asian artists explore borders and frontiers with poignant, pointed thought.

Pocket books. Cardboard mats. A huge bell. Videos of the past and present. Talk about wide-ranging material used to shape concepts in new media art. In most traditional art exhibitions, viewers are expected to treat artworks with awe and reverence, gaping at them from a safe distance behind glass frames and velvet ropes.
