THE award-winning magical theatre production Star of Wonder from Singapore will enthral Kuala Lumpur folks this Saturday and Sunday.
The presentation is a collaborative effort between Calvary Church Kuala Lumpur and Gateway Entertainment of Faith Community Baptist Church (FCBC) Singapore.
“The production tells a story of faith, hope and love through a magical presentation of music and dance that will captivate the minds of the audience,” said project coordinator Rev Richard Yun.
There will be two shows on Saturday at 3pm and 7pm, and one on Sunday at 7pm.
The performances will be held at the Calvary Convention Centre (CCC) at 1, Jalan Jalil Perkasa 1, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
Held for the first time in Malaysia, the performance will feature world-renowned Elite Diamond Merlin Award recipients Lawrence Khong and his daughter, Priscilla.
The father-and-daughter team, as well as the production crew, have been performing in various countries, including the US, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, with more than 160,000 people viewing the production.
“This is not just entertainment. It is one that will evoke a great sense of hope, coupled with many moments of laughter and awe,” said Rev Yun.
Khong, who is also the senior pastor at the Faith Community Baptist Church (FCBC) Singapore, will be sharing hope-filled messages at the end of each performance.
Interpretations in Bahasa Malaysia and Cantonese will be made available.
Calvary Church will be hosting a special Good Friday service on April 18 at 8pm and Easter Worship service at 9am at the CCC on April 20.
Admission is free.
There will be stalls selling food and drinks two hours before each presentation.
Parking in the CCC is free and additional parking is available at Taman Rekreasi Bukit Jalil, which is opposite the CCC.
CCC is easily accessible by the Ampang LRT Line.
A shuttle service will be provided at the Sri Petaling LRT station an hour before and after the presentation.
