Step 6: Finally, it’s time to put on the wig. Williams commented that the wig gets more flamboyant as the show progresses to mirror Edna’s newfound confidence.

IT’S amazing what long eyelashes can do to your features!” exclaims Damian Williams, the actor who plays Edna Turnblad in the local production of Hairspray The Broadway Musical.

Star2 got an exclusive backstage pass and witnessed first hand Williams’ transformation from man to uhm, woman.

Step 2: After drawing some artificial brows with an eyebrow pencil, the wig mistress proceeded by applying foundation and blusher on Williams’ face to give him that luminous feminine glow.

Step 3: Once the foundation and blusher have been applied, Williams’ lips were painted by the wig mistress.

Step 4: The fake lashes were meticulously pasted onto the upper part of Williams eyelids after that. A special adhesive is used to keep the lashes glued on.

Step 5: The wig mistress then wrapped Williams forehead with a headnet to conceal any strands of hair from his forehead.

Step 6: Finally, it’s time to put on the wig. Williams commented that the wig gets more flamboyant as the show progresses to mirror Edna’s newfound confidence.
