Among the themes explored at this year’s Ubud Writers And Readers Festival 2014 was writing about life-changing journeys.

I could not have chosen a better year to attend the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival (UWRF). Being a travel writer, I was excited to learn that travel writing was one of the highlights of the 235 activities. The festival theme, “Saraswati: Wisdom and Knowledge”, emphasised an exploration of wisdom through creative expression, and this included travelling and relaying one’s adventure through literature.
