Spicy treat this month

IN celebration of the festival of light, the November issue of Flavours is full of spice and sweetness, with Manu Saigal’s mouth-watering spread of traditional Indian dishes and recipes for those sweets that are such a treat at Deepavali open houses.

The cover feature is about Malaysian-Chinese-Austrian chef Rachel Khoo who invites the world into her tiny but gorgeous Parisian apartment in the new TV series, The Little Paris Kitchen. And when Khoo says “little”, she means so small the camera crew has to keep their equipment in the bathtub! Khoo shares her remarkable life that eventually led to Paris and Le Cordon Bleu and a degree in patisserie. And then, to test the recipes for her cookbooks, Khoo opened the “smallest restaurant in Paris” in her apartment that seats all of two people at a time (her latest book, The Little Paris Kitchen, is available to readers of Flavours at a 25% discount)!
