Review: Paper Girls, Volume One

Trippy yet nostalgic, with great art by Cliff Chiang, Paper Girls is a series well worth reading.

The 1980s are officially hip again. From Netflix’s hit TV show Stranger Things to remakes of 1980s classics like MacGyver, Ghostbusters and Voltron, what was gold in that decade is now regaining its shine again.

Recent winner of the Eisner Award for Best New Series, Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s Paper Girls also delivers (geddit? Paper Girls... deliver?) a fantastic, yet trippy trip down 1980s nostalgia lane, and pulls off an odd mix of weird science fiction and teenage angst.
