KL Motor Hunt

Nov 1: The Trailblazers are back again with the KL Motor Hunt, this time charting a course through tranquil Shah Alam, bustling Subang Jaya and swanky Petaling Jaya.

Participants will be categorised under classic/non-classic cars. Entry fee: RM75/non-member, RM50 (member), includes breakfast and lunch.

All treasures collected will be donated to a charity home. Duration: 8am to noon. Briefing is on Oct 30, 7pm at KSAS.

Canon Photo Marathon

Nov 1: Hosted by Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the one-day marathon is open for photography enthusiasts who will take part in an exciting race around Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle.

This year’s marathon is styled after a treasure hunt with different stations around Kuala Lumpur where themes will be handed out to test participants’ creativity and photography skills.

Each participant will be flagged off from Berjaya Times Square and given two pit-stop locations where they can collect their themes.

The event will be from 7am-7pm. Participants can join in under the Compact Camera user or Professional Camera user category. Non-Canon camera users will be charged a RM15-fee.

“Scream”

Oct 31: Don’t miss this outdoor party with a horror theme. Expect a night of “pure horror and evil fun”. DJs and live bands like DJ N_Droid, DJ Joey G, DJ Rob Nutek, Beat The System, S.A.D, Y2K and One Buck Short will entertain.

Also, check out the Live Scare actors and special Scream cocktails. The best dressed couple stands to win a cash prize.

A junkyard corner with a range of accessories will be on sale for those who have nothing ghoulish to wear.

Acoustic Jaya

Oct 24 & Oct 25 and Oct 31 & Nov 1: In conjunction with the official opening of Jaya One and in support of the Passionately Pink campaign for breast cancer awareness, Palm Square will present a special all-female line-up concert that includes Izzy Mohamed, Jasemaine Gan, Zalila Lee and Estrella.

Petaling Jaya’s free outdoor concert series, Acoustic Jaya, aims to champion Malaysia’s independent singers-songwriters by giving them a performance space and a chance to collaborate with each other.

Concert is from 8.30pm-10pm. Admission is free.

The Eco Film Festival ‘08

Paint a poem

Nov 1: Eco Film Fest will feature the Paint a Poem workshop for children between 6 and 12. The workshop aims to inculcate environmental education and awareness through creative art.

Terry Fox Run KL 2008

Nov 2: Sign up for the annual Terry Fox Run and sweat it out in the name of cancer research in Malaysia.

A fun-filled, non-competitive family event, the run aims to raise money for research to cure cancer.

Since it began in 1983, the Terry Fox Run has become the largest, single day, fund-raising event for cancer awareness and research around the world.

Participants may run, walk, skate or use any non-motorised means of transport.

In Malaysia, the Run has been held for the last 18 years and has attracted thousands of Malaysians from all walks of life.

Funds will be raised through the sale of exclusive Limited Edition Terry Fox Run 2008 T-shirts and from voluntary cash donations. Run starts at 9am.
