IT was the scene of a wardrobe malfunction involving Marilyn Monroe in 1956. The screen siren was holding court with the press to promote her latest movie, The Prince and the Showgirl, when the strap of her black dress snapped, in what was said to be an orchestrated act to titillate the public.
But Monroe wasnt the only who caused a riot there. When the Beatles invaded New York City in 1964, their fans camped outside the venue for five days.
