Beside locked doors

I had just finished a leisurely lunch with my children and was preparing to exit the restaurant when I discovered that I didn’t have my car key with me – yet another indication that my middle-aged brain is atrophying at an alarming rate. 

As we retraced our steps, my teenage son said, “Maybe you’ve left the key in the car.”
