The race heats up

Michael Tang and Pui Cheng Wui (pix, above) are now leading the race to be on the two-man team to the 2005 World Scrabble Championship in London.

MICHAEL Tang won the inaugural tournament after an excellent start. He used his 11-0 streak to build up a healthy spread to hold off a late charge from Pui Cheng Wui, who beat him 4-1 in the last five KOTH rounds. His superior spread was enough to win the tiebreaker when Pui equalised on wins.
