The ‘poon choy’, a symbol of abundance.
The Year of the Horse symbolises strength, success and forward momentum.
Guided by this festive concept, Oversea Restaurant group has rolled out a Chinese New Year spread that facilitates reunion ahead of a year of prosperity and new beginnings.
Beyond the classic Yee Sang with Smoked Salmon and Korean Snow Pear, diners can savour inventive variations featuring jellyfish and abalone.
Fabulous Fruity Yee Sang has refreshing flavours, while more refined creations such as Yee Sang with Abalone and Black Truffle are also available.
The poon choy (treasure pot) is an iconic reunion centrepiece, a magnificent symbol of abundance, crafted to embody everything the lunar new year stands for.
Brimming with 16 premium, auspicious ingredients − each chosen for its quality and meaning − this lavish pot is slow-simmered for hours in a rich, aromatic broth.
The comforting nostalgia of the traditional reunion dinner is delivered via the rich and soulful Hong Kong-style Waxed Meat Claypot Rice.
This festive staple that includes premium waxed meats comes in two sizes – RM138++ for six people and RM168++ for 10, with the option to add foie gras.
Available at selected Oversea outlets, there is also a chicken sausage alternative at pork-free Oversea Seafood outlets.
The poon choy and waxed meat claypot rice are available for delivery and takeaway, with advance orders recommended.
New creations include Braised Pork Trotter, a dish representing abundance, solid foundations and prosperity within reach.
For a dash of joy, try the Stir-Fried Crystal Prawn with Water Chestnut – prawns are a symbol of happiness – that perfectly balances sweetness and crunch.
For a pork-free celebration, the group’s EMP KL and Oversea Seafood restaurants offer curated menus, ensuring every guest can join in the festive cheer.
The menu is available until March 3 at the group’s restaurants in the Klang Valley, Ipoh (Perak) and Genting Highlands.
